Fishing Report April & Early May 2023

The past few weeks have seen the fishery surroundings and the fishing gradually change. It’s spring fishing now, big buzzer hatches, hawthorn fly are about as are a few early caddis and daddies, plus a few pond olives and today, our first mayfly hatch of the year. Yes good catches of quality browns, blues and rainbows to low double figures continue to be a feature, the difference is now nymphs and dry flies are catching a lot of fish when conditions are right. Sure a pulled lure is taking fish, but after a winter of doing that, it’s great to get a trout or two off the top!

Buzzers, Diawl Bach, PTN, Crunchers, mayfly nymph, daddies, F fly, shuttlecock have all produced in a addition to black, olive, yellow, white and orange lures.
