Fishing Report March to Early April

Throughout March and early April, fishing has taken a seasonal upturn, with many excellent catches reported, a few of more than 20 fish. Several double figure rainbows were landed, the largest at the start of April an 18lber. Browns also put in an appearance, the best landed at 7lbs.

Successful tactics have been varied. Small natural patterns have caught such as dial bach. Really garish lures have also produced fish and dries have worked under the right conditions too.

The lakes are carrying a little colour currently, this is just a seasonal and completely natural occurrence. The fish are more likely to feed more confidently and close to the bank under these conditions, a distinct advantage for anglers!
