Pre Christmas 2023 Fishing Update

Fishing during recent weeks has been seasonally good. The lakes are lovely and clear, with trout thriving in the cool water and feeding positively. A typical fishing day sees trout taking lures in the morning, with smaller lures and nymphs being more productive in the afternoon. As always in fishing this is a general overview from our fishing reports. If what you are doing is not working it’s always best to change something.

Our three lakes are full of quality rainbow, brown and blue trout right now, so if you are planning to fish during the holiday season, we are open from 8AM everyday except Christmas Day when we are closed.

Most anglers are catching at the moment. A recent corporate day enjoyed a 30 fish catch between 9 anglers. Recommended flies are bloodworm, black buzzer, cruncher, hares ear, lures in black, white, olive, yellow and silver.
